Victoria Day Weekend.....NOT
It is supposed to be Victoria Day tomorrow. This weekend is supposed to be the first long weekend of summer. It is the weekend that gardens are planted and outside projects are started. Well, it is a long weekend but I swear it is Fall out there. Thanksgiving must be just around the corner. It is SO cold I am wearing a sweatshirt and SOCKS! I never wear socks after April if I can help it!
The one project of many to do that I started was the summerization of the pond. I emptied it of all the winter scum. Then I had to contend with Kessie thinking that the stinky stuff was for her to play in. You'd think she was a dog or something. The one summer purchase made this weekend was a new patio set.

Maybe tomorrow it'll feel like summer and I'll be motivated to tend ato the pond and the garden but for now I am going to get under a blanket and start The Davinci Code.

I tried to post two times last night!! First time my computer froze and I lost it all. The second time I did a briefer post and the %74#+= thing couldn't find the page to post to! Arghgh!
I wanted to let you know that my Dad's surgery has been postponed! He was taking Viamin E and that is not good for those going into Surgery! It is a blood thinner. He has to be off of it for a few days and then they will re schedule.
I had links and everything!
Now I have to go to work.

It is Wednesday. Hump Day. What else can be said about Wednesday except that the French word for it is mercredi named for Mercury. At school it is show and tell. My co-op student runs it for me these days so I get to do desk work and watch and listen. She is in grade 11 and is so much better at teaching than some of the college students I've seen doing placements.
Earlier this week I found out that my Father is having open heart surgery on Friday. Today I made the decision to go to Kitchener on Friday and for the rest of the weekend to be there for him and his wife. I plan on taking alot of knitting!
The soy silk Pattern I have been doing from the Vogue magazine under estimated the number of balls needed for the capelet. It says that a 100 gr ball has something 250 yds but a 100 gr ball actually has only 175 yards. When I was buying the yarn I chose to believe that the 250 yard info was just a mistake so I got the 2 balls it suggested but I now need a third. I am not sure if I am going to make it up to the shop before Friday so I may not have it to take with me this weekend. I am sure going to try hard to get there though.
I am going to be taking a project that I have been neglecting. It is probably a good time to be working on it.

It is the Canada Goose vest that I started for my Dad. The cables don't show up really well in this picture but they are there.
I also thought I'd bring my cotton sock yarn and see about trying the Jay walker pattern. Does anybody think that doing them in a cotton sock yarn would be a problem? And now I'm remembering the Purse kit.
So I guess if I don't make it fo Myrtle Station for yarn I should have enough to keep me busy.
I hope that the weather on Friday is not like what we had this afternoon . This afternoon we had major thunderstorms and hail. It was coming down so hard that when I left work I got soaked through running to my car (it's a very small parking lot!). It is supposed to be rainy now for a few days. But here's hoping
The lilacs are out this week. They are beautiful and fragrant. Maybe I'll get a picture to show you tomorrow.
That is about as random as I can be right now! TA TA

Thought I'd like to show you the gifts I got today.

The beautiful ring is from Rhea and the Soccer Mom charm is from Patrick. They are on top of my Soy Silk Capelet. I hope that all of you had a good day today. Does anyone know anything about Reiki? I'm curious.

Yes I went to a band and black light puppetry show tonight. Rhea was in the Grade 8 band and they did do wonderfully. I continue to feel proud of my children!
Day number 3 of single parenthod has come and gone without much of a hitch. Other than the surprise concert I have had no other emergencies to deal with. Both of the kids actually helped put out garbage and recycles tonight without so much as a complaint. JM is back sometime tomorrow. I'll be able to hand back the cooking duties! He is just way so much better at putting together a well balanced meal than I am! I just slap things on the table and expect everyone to eat. He creates sumptuous repasts that leave the family wanting more. I bet he ate better than the kids and I during his excurtion!
I'm off to a Farm tomorrow with my class and after a fabulous week it is calling for rain and thunder storms. I will be asking the weather gods to hold them off until afternoon! Please!!
Knitting continues. I can't wait to show you all how the Soy Silk is knitting up. It is so cool.
A demain mes amis!
